In Georgia, the Best Start for Baby & Mom campaign is leading the way—uniting local expertise and trusted voices to address gaps in maternal and infant health care. A partnership led by BLK+Cross, Alive & In Color, Morehouse School of Medicine, Georgia CEAL RESTORES, and the Hispanic Health Coalition of Georgia (HHCGA) is amplifying outreach to the communities who need it most.
Pregnancy and early parenthood bring both joy and challenges. For many mothers in Georgia—especially in Black and Hispanic communities—systemic barriers, misinformation, and limited access can make it difficult to keep up with prenatal care and recommended vaccinations. The Best Start for Baby & Mom campaign is responding by combining grassroots advocacy, bilingual health resources, and expert guidance to empower parents with knowledge they can trust.

As a key collaborator, HHCGA brings cultural and linguistic expertise to every step of the campaign. From reviewing Spanish-language FAQ handouts about vaccines and prenatal care to co-creating engaging social media content, HHCGA ensures that the campaign’s resources speak authentically to Hispanic families. The coalition is also working with Alive & In Color and BLK+Cross on media approval, branding, and strategy—helping shape a unified, effective approach.
